A proud moment we wanted to share with you

BADC 2025

On November 22, at the Brisbane Advertising and Design Club Awards, something remarkable happened.

What began as 14 finalist spots for Grooming Hides Behind Harmless grew into an outcome bigger than any of us expected:

Three Golds. Four Silvers. Seven Bronzes.
And BEST OF SHOW!

Trophies

Yup. We were just a little bit over-the-moon jumping-on-the-table excited.
And for a purpose-led campaign, it’s such a meaningful result.

This work was created with conviction and a clear intention: to shine a light on a problem too often hidden in plain sight. On Saturday night, we saw the industry recognise the importance of that message.

To quote Sesh Moodley, Head of Judges and ECD of Thinkerbell, “This piece didn’t behave like advertising. It behaved like the issue itself. It built trust. It held you close. And then it snapped that safety in half. It left audiences changed. It left juries rattled. And it lifted the standard for how cause-based work can move culture.”

A huge effort from the Engine team
Every person at Engine poured something meaningful into this campaign – craft, courage, time, care.
The result is a direct reflection of that commitment and of what’s possible when a team rallies around an idea with purpose.

A massive shout-out to our production partners
This campaign simply wouldn’t exist in the way it does without the talent and generosity of our partners.
Congratulations to Taxi Film Production, Leah Purcell, Mark Wareham, Rosco Audio, Jarsonic, and Sam Scoufos, who all picked up awards of their own.

Their combined contribution helped push the Bravehearts tally to an incredible 19 awards on the night.

A huge thank you to Bravehearts
To the Bravehearts team: thank you for the work you do every day, and for trusting us to help tell this story. Your belief in the idea shaped this partnership into something truly special.

And thank you to everyone who backed the campaign.
To everyone who contributed craft, time or media support – thank you.
This was a collective effort in every sense.

This one is special
We’re proud of the work. Proud of the purpose. Proud of the people.
And proud that, together, we lived up to what Engine stands for: helping make tomorrow better than today.
